Running Into My 40s: My Unexpected Journey
This year, I turned 40. If you had told me three years ago-in 2022-that I would ever run a marathon, I would have laughed out loud. Growing up, running was never something I considered fun. In fact, I couldn’t imagine choosing pain and struggle on purpose!
But here I am in 2025, a proud finisher of the BIG SUR INTERNATIONAL MARATHON. Running has transformed me. It’s given me strength, discipline, and a deep sense of accomplishment. Through every mile, I’ve learned about dedication, commitment, planning, and the power of following through. Most of all, I’ve discovered just how much our bodies-and minds-are capable of.
Imagine this:
October 2022: I couldn’t run for 30 seconds without stopping.
April 2025: I crossed the BISM finish line in 4 hours and 45 minutes. Now, I truly believe Boston is within reach!
If you’re reading this and doubting your own potential, remember: Every big journey starts with a single, shaky step. What’s one goal you thought was impossible? Share it below-I’d love to cheer you on!
